Dell EMC PowerStore X uses a unique architecture where management and discovery use the same cables and connections as storage. This setup simplifies the networking requirements and integrates management, discovery, and storage traffic on shared connections.

External hosts typically connect to a cluster for data access through the Interconnect (ICM) network. The Management network is used for managing and monitoring the cluster, ICD is not a standard network role associated with clusters, and the Storage network is primarily used for internal data transfer and storage operations within the cluster.

When adding a new appliance into an existing Dell EMC PowerStore T cluster, all the needed management IP addresses for the new appliance must be pre-configured on the cluster. Each appliance in the cluster must have its own management IP addresses to connect to management services and enable external clients to access the cluster. This is different from configuring an initial appliance because, for additional appliances, the management IPs do not automatically get assigned or inherited from existing appliances.
