To remove unwanted widgets from the Security Incident Catalog in ServiceNow, security incident administrators can follow these steps: Go to Security Incident > Catalog & Knowledge > Maintain Catalog Items. Select the widgets that you want to remove. Click the Deactivate button. The widgets will be deactivated and will no longer be displayed in the Security Incident Catalog. The other options are incorrect: A. Clicking the X on the top right corner will only delete the widget from the current view. It will not remove the widget from the catalog. B. Talking to the system administrator is not necessary. Security incident administrators can remove unwanted widgets themselves.

By impersonating a Security Incident Admin I was able to remove it just by clicking on the X on the top of the widget

By impersonating a Security Incident Admin I was able to remove it just by clicking on the X on the top of the widget. And the answer talks about widgets and not items. So I think it doesn't make sense to deactivate the catalog items
