Exam ACSA Question 39

Switch 1 shown in the exhibit is an ArubaOS switch that has an uplink to the network core on interface 25. The network administrator wants to add a link on interface 26. The administrator creates a link aggregation with this command:

Switch1 (config)# trunk 25-26 trk1 lacp

What else must the administrator do to enable the Switch 1 link aggregation to successfully pass all traffic to the core?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

When creating a link aggregation group (trunk) with LACP, the VLAN configuration must be applied to the link aggregation group itself rather than the individual interfaces. This is because once an interface is added to a trunk, it loses its individual VLAN settings and inherits those of the trunk. Therefore, the administrator must configure VLANs 10 and 20 as tagged VLANs on the newly created trunk (trk1) to ensure all traffic passes to the core.

B is right. If you add an interface to a trunk, all its VLAN settings are lost and the VLANs have to be configured on the trunk
