An administrator connected a hypervisor to interface Ten-Gigabit Ethernet1/0/1 in a switch. The administrator created virtual machines in VLAN 10 and 20 on the hypervisor. These VLANs are configured to be tagged on the hypervisor.

The administrator found that all the virtual machines within VLAN 20 can communicate with each other, but not to any resource on VLAN 20 outside the hypervisor.

What must you do to resolve this issue?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

The issue is that the virtual machines in VLAN 20 cannot communicate with resources outside the hypervisor because VLAN 20 is not permitted on the interface. Since the VLANs are configured to be tagged on the hypervisor, it is crucial to ensure that both VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 are allowed to pass through the switch interface. Configuring the interface to permit VLAN 20 will allow communication between the virtual machines in VLAN 20 and any other resources in the same VLAN outside the hypervisor.

C - Permit VLAN 20 on the interface. "The administrator created virtual machines in VLAN 10 and 20 on the hypervisor. These VLANs are configured to be tagged on the hypervisor." So no reason specifically to use PVID

C is the best answer, VLANs are tagged in the hypervisor
