Question 89

Scenario: A Citrix Architect needs to design a new XenApp and XenDesktop environment.

The architect has identified the Resource Layer requirements shown in the Exhibit.

Click the Exhibit button to view the requirements.

Additionally, management at the organization has identified the following general Resource Layer requirements:

✑ The profile solution should minimize logon and logoff times as much as possible.

✑ User groups do NOT need to use the same profile type.

Which profile type should the architect use for the Graphic Designers group?

    Correct Answer: C

The ideal profile type for the Graphic Designers group is Citrix Profile Management. The requirements for this group include persistent user settings, access to specific profile folders (such as Desktop, Favorites, My Documents, and others), and the need to avoid data loss if an application crashes. Citrix Profile Management satisfies these requirements by ensuring profile data persistence and providing mechanisms to include specific folders and application data. Additionally, it aligns with the need to minimize logon and logoff times, as it is optimized for such performance considerations. Local and mandatory profiles would not provide the necessary persistence and data handling, and Microsoft roaming profiles are typically slower and less efficient in this context.

Discussion
HPOption: C

D can't be right because with a mandatory profile, user settings do not persist! There is another question that is almost the same with different answers and in that question the answer in Profile Streaming which is a feature of Citrix Profile Management. So C can be the only right answer!

keplerOption: B

B is correct. Roaming is old school and sluggish. Mandatory already covered by @HP. Local is risky - profile /date lost of corruption happens. UPM - can redirect shell folders, files/folder inclusions (for appdata, in this case)
