3V0-42.20 Exam - Question 47

An architect is helping an organization with the Logical Design of an NSX-T Data Center solution.

This information was gathered during the Assessment Phase:

✑ There isn't much budget available for a new off shore site.

✑ The new site is decentralized and no communication with the main data center is required.

✑ The design will need to cater for availability, upgrades, and failure scenarios.

✑ N+1 must be maintained at all times.

Which three selections should the architect recommend in their design? (Choose three.)

Show Answer
Correct Answer: BCD

Given the constraints of budget, decentralization, and need for high availability with N+1 redundancy, the architecture must be simplified and optimized. Making all pNICs part of N-VDS and migrating VMKs streamlines the network configuration and simplifies management (B). Collapsing Management, Edge, and Compute clusters helps in reducing complexity and cost, making the solution more budget-friendly (C). Installing a minimum of 4 ESXi hosts ensures N+1 redundancy, allowing one host to fail while maintaining the required resources (D).

if there isn't much budget available for a new site, probably you have to collapse Management/Edge/Compute, the minimum requirements for any cluster in VMware Validated Design is 4 ESXi nodes to support N+1. Now if vCenter is not v7 or later you will have to migrate al pNICs to N-VDS unless you have NICs available to separate them between VSS and N-VDS or budget to add new NICs on the servers (this is not the case).
