2v0-2123 Exam - Question 97

Refer to the exhibit.

Given the configuration shown in the exhibit, what should the administrator do if the latest VM template contains changes that are no longer needed?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

If the latest VM template contains changes that are no longer needed, the appropriate action would be to revert to the previous version of the template. This action will discard the changes made in version (3) and restore the template to its state in version (2). Deleting the latest version directly is not ideal as reverting to a previous version is specifically designed to handle such scenarios where changes need to be discarded.

I agree with Sturi2011, B is correct https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/8.0/vsphere-vm-administration/GUID-E9EAF7AC-1C08-441A-AB80-0BAA1EAF9F0A.html

The wording is important here. When you select the three elipses the option contains the word "Revert..." not Delete.

B: - See section "Revert to a Previous Version of a Template If the latest VM template contains changes that you no longer want to keep or you made a mistake during your last checkin, you can revert the VM template to the previous version." https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/8.0/vsphere-vm-administration/GUID-E9EAF7AC-1C08-441A-AB80-0BAA1EAF9F0A.html

Literally B or C are both correct answers.

C. It says "the latest VM template contains changes that are no longer needed" It says nothing about needing to revert to another template, B is wrong.

Deleting App-LibTemplate (3) will remove the changes that are no longer needed and revert to the previous version of the template.

By using the vertical timeline, you can revert VM templates back to their previous state. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/8.0/vsphere-vm-administration/GUID-E9EAF7AC-1C08-441A-AB80-0BAA1EAF9F0A.html#:~:text=revert%20VM%20templates%20back%20to%20their%20previous%20state

I vote for C the keyword "no longer needed" Revert to App-LibTemplate (2) mean App-LibTemplate (3) still there

Answer B is correct. C is not correct : the Delete option will be available only on App-LibTemplate(2), and will consist in deleting it and keep the version 3.
