Which vSAN maintenance mode option should be used to avoid storage policy non-compliance?
To avoid storage policy non-compliance, the 'Full data migration' option should be used. This option ensures that all of the components are evacuated to other hosts in the cluster, maintaining compliance with the storage policies. Other options, such as 'Ensure accessibility' or 'No data migration', do not guarantee that all components will be evacuated, and may result in non-compliance with the storage policies.
I got this one wrong, initially I though A would suffice. It is indeed C (Full Migration). Ensure accessibility makes sure the workload can run however, it becomes non compliant with the policy (from https://blogs.vmware.com/virtualblocks/2018/10/29/a-closer-look-at-emm/#:~:text=Full%20Data%20Migration%20–%20evacuate%20all,with%20the%20respective%20storage%20policies) Full Data Migration – evacuate all of the components to other hosts in the cluster. Ensure Accessibility – evacuate enough components to ensure that virtual machines can continue to run, but non-compliant with the respective storage policies.
The correct answer is C. The host is going to be removed from the cluster permanently.
