What are two uses cases for VMware Tools? (Choose two.)
VMware Tools provide functionality for shutting down a virtual machine remotely and sharing folders between ESXi hosts and guest OS file systems. The ability to shut down a virtual machine remotely is a feature supported by VMware Tools, facilitating administrative tasks and automated management. Sharing folders is also supported, although it’s more common in VMware Workstation and VMware Fusion environments. Other options such as time synchronization are managed with synchronization to the host's time rather than directly with an NTP server, Direct deployment of the Aria Automation Config minion is not a listed use case, and VMware Tools do not provide support for unsupported network device drivers.

Only two options can be chosen. C and D are clearly correct, but E is more vague. Shouldn't C&D be chosen rather?
DE A - no NTP support in VMware Tools B - no official support in doc C - no support for ESXi only Workstation D - describle in doc E - VMXNET 3 is not supported by OS drivers
De is correct D because vnic drivers are required.
I'm going B&D Why B is valid: "Salt requires a salt-minion to be deployed in the guest. Salt specific guest variables are set on the host side per VM basis and subsequently read by VMware Tools inside guest. VMware Tools then downloads the salt bundle and spins up a salt-minion instance inside the guest." https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Tools/12.2.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vmwaretools.doc/GUID-373CD922-AF80-4B76-B19B-17F83B8B0972.html
Answers are found in the student book: Under 7-13 About VMware Tools. D - Ability to shut down the VM remotely C - Shared folders between host and guest file systems A is incorrect as the VMware does not use NTP for time synchronization.
Correct. I checked in the student book too
Definitely D and also E. Time sync is with the host and not ntp directly, so not A. Also C is not possible with Esxi as it is blocked by default as a security measure.
It is not possible to share files between the host and the virtual machines using VMware Tools in VMware ESXi or VMware vSphere. This feature is only available in VMware Workstation and VMware Fusion. D-E correct
VMware Tools allows you to open file share paths between hosts and VMs as an experimental feature. However, this is not recommended for vSphere environments due to security concerns, so it's hard to see this as a use case. So I'm going to go with a very vague statement: unsupported network driver support.
Tricky, but as per the lecture manual: A - no, NTP not used B - no, quite clearly C - Yes, shared folder access D - Yes, ability to remotely shut down E - no. While VMXNET3 driver provided, there are many other unsupported drivers which VM tools is not going to include either.
C & D CM8, 7-13 - About VMware Tools - Ability to shut down the vm remotely. -> Answer D is 100% correct - Shared folders between host and guest file systems. -> Answer C is 100% correct.
As per vSphere 8: Install, Configure Manage Student Lecture Manual, the correct answers are definitely C and D. Also, Time synchronization is mentioned as a feature but in a way that guest OS syncs with host time (not specifically NTP). So since only two answers are needed, it should be C and D.
if guest OS runs on workstation, C is right. now this subject is focus on vsphere, i don't think C is suitable
Ill go with D&E
AD the official blue print only mentions Time sync and remote shutdown Yes you can share folders but thats using vmware workstation; this exam doesn't include this.
VMTools only syncs with host , no external NTP source. VMTools also enables Shared Folders between host and guest file systems ( on VMware Workstation and VMware Fusion ). https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Workstation-Pro/17/com.vmware.ws.using.doc/GUID-D6D9A5FD-7F5F-4C95-AFAB-EDE9335F5562.html
C&D - checked in the student book as RainWhisper said
Why not AC as per below link? https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/340
C is 100%.. E: is tricky as it states "support for unsupported network drivers". The vSphere 8: Install, Configure Manage Student Lecture Manual stated device drivers ie SVGA display, vmxnet/vmxnet3, baloon driver for memory management, sync driver for quiescing I/O, Paravirtual SCSI controller..Regarding Time Synchronization, the manual did not specifically mention NTP but the fact it is used for time syncrhonization, I would go with A over E.
