Which component is upgraded when using the SDDC Manager management domain upgrade workflow in VMware Cloud Foundation?
When using the SDDC Manager management domain upgrade workflow in VMware Cloud Foundation, one of the components upgraded is the VMware NSX-T Manager nodes. The management domain in VMware Cloud Foundation typically includes components responsible for the overall management and operations of the cloud infrastructure, and NSX-T Manager nodes are key components within this management domain.
Management domain upgrade does not upgrade VI Workload domain components.
As far as I'm aware, the terminology for VCF domains is kinda tricky, just like in NSX where ESXi hosts and Edge Nodes are generalized as 'Transport Nodes', VCF generalizes any domain (either Management or VI Workload) as 'Workload Domain'. Refer to this link: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Cloud-Foundation/5.0/vcf-lifecycle/GUID-1670629D-ABAC-4349-9C8F-CECCF370DB5E.html Search for subtitle "Precheck Update - Versions Prior to SDDC Manager 5.0" in the "Procedure" section it shows a screenshot of the SDDC Manager UI and states: "On the Workload Domains page, click the workload domain where you want to run the precheck.". Thus, I would say option A could also be an answer. Not saying option C is not correct, but option A seems more fit in my opinion. - YoMeroElPlomero
VMware NSX-T Manager nodes ( we assume for MGMT WLD ) this seems to be best answer
Correct answer is A https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Cloud-Foundation/4.5/vcf-lifecycle/GUID-E101AFB5-1034-4CF9-B96E-A2E70DCF02F5.html
Not really as the VI workload domain vCenter have nothing to do with the MANAGEMENT one.
