Question 25

Refer to the exhibit.

An administrator is creating an automated desktop pool of full clones. When prompted to select a template, the administrator sees the detail shown in the exhibit.

Which two combined actions should the administrator perform to be able to continue with creation of a desktop pool? (Choose two.)

    Correct Answer: A, E

To proceed with creating an automated desktop pool of full clones, the administrator must convert the golden image virtual machine to a template first. This is necessary because full clones require a template to be created from the golden image. After converting the virtual machine to a template, refreshing the 'Select template' view will allow the administrator to see and select the newly created template and continue with the pool creation process.

Answers could be A & E. The gold image needs to be a template not a virtual machine. Once it's converted to a template you can refresh the view.

VCIX_Chris

Not A, but B.

Lymeric97Options: AE

Golden Image for Full-Clones must be a template, see article below; https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2203/virtual-desktops/GUID-A07C77C6-7B7B-43D3-AD3E-25F0831E1811.html

rsesxiOptions: AE

Definitely A & E https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2206/virtual-desktops/GUID-3E892420-28CE-446F-8964-7BC8E6F2437C.html

halvarez2000Options: AE

A and E "Prepare a virtual machine template that Horizon 8 will use to create the machines. Horizon Agent must be installed on the template. See Creating and Preparing a Virtual Machine for Cloning."

VCIX_ChrisOptions: BE

B and E obviously. It is not A, because Horizon simply does not work with vSphere templates. Never did and never will. It's not C: If there in general is a template and the horizon service user has permissions to it, it will be visible in the dialog without filters. D will only be correct, if there are, like, a million snapshots, but the question doesn'T point into this direction. So remain B and E: First create a snapshot, then refresh the view to display it. Had this yesterday.

VCIX_Chris

Just did this on Horizon 8.10.0 build - 21972440 (Version 2306). NO vSphere TEMPLATES - only snapshots!

VCIX_Chris

This ^^ is about Instant Clones.

VCIX_Chris

I mixed it up, because for Full Clones you indeed need vSphere templates. The link given by Examtopics is wrong, though. Correct would be: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2103/virtual-desktops/GUID-FB9EEA35-065A-4C4E-906E-E1B9440A5AE7.html

KimoHasNoBallsOptions: AD

sorry, for full clones it has to be a template.

KimoHasNoBalls

Definitely NOT A https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2103/virtual-desktops/GUID-C450DD3D-AB0B-4B24-8981-ED6C4D1B9148.html

KimoHasNoBallsOptions: AB

Note: You cannot create an instant-clone desktop pool from a VM template. You must first convert the VM template to a VM. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2103/virtual-desktops/GUID-C450DD3D-AB0B-4B24-8981-ED6C4D1B9148.html

BlueAppleOptions: BE

Answer is B and E, we don't need to convert to template. Golden image, then create a snapshot and from snapshot we can create full clone

netghost

no you cant

VCIX_Chris

Of course you can.

vkv88Options: AE

AE are correct answers

Kal_ddOptions: AE

these are the correct options

Carbonfiber01Options: AE

templates are required for full clones.

netghostOptions: AE

defo a and e just created one

VCIX_Chris

Not A, but B.

xdwt44Options: BE

This is BE because it does not have to be a template... the golden image just require a snapshot..

thedelph

Full clones it has to be a template: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2206/virtual-desktops/GUID-3E892420-28CE-446F-8964-7BC8E6F2437C.html It cannot be a snapshot
