5v0-2223 Exam - Question 5

A vSAN administrator is noticing that the objects resynchronizing in the cluster are taking longer than expected and wants to view the resynchronizing metrics.

Which performance category should the vSAN administrator open?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: D

The appropriate performance category to view resynchronizing metrics in a vSAN cluster is 'Backend'. The Backend performance category provides detailed metrics on resynchronization, including read IOPS, read throughput, and read latency metrics, which are crucial to understanding and troubleshooting resynchronization issues.

D - Backend

For me, "C" is the correct answer, not "D". The question is focused on checking specifically the resynchronization metrics, and the answer "Resynchronization Latency" is, by far, much related to the question than the other answers, which are more "general".

When a vSAN administrator wants to view resynchronizing metrics and is concerned about the duration of resynchronization processes, they should open the "Resync Latency" performance category. Resync latency metrics provide information about the time it takes for vSAN to synchronize objects within the cluster. Monitoring this category helps administrators understand the efficiency of resynchronization processes and identify potential issues that might be causing delays. So, the correct option is: C. Resync Latency

Latency is a graph / metric.

Disk and host network performance categories are only visible at a host-level, not at the cluster level. There is no "resync latency" category : this is a simple metric. The right answer is D : Backend. Once you go in Monitor / vSAN / Performance / Backend, you can see all the resync metrics : Resync Read IOPS, Resync Read Throughput, Resync Read Latency

D) Backend Pg 30. https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/vsan-703-monitoring-troubleshooting-guide.pdf Also confirmed in vCenter at work. "Latency" is a graph / metric under Backend.
