Veeam Backup & Replication in-line deduplication is most helpful when: (Choose two.)
In-line deduplication in Veeam Backup & Replication is most effective when virtual machines (VMs) are created from the same template because they have similar data blocks. This allows for a higher rate of deduplication as redundant data can be more readily identified and eliminated. Additionally, if VMs have a lot of free space on their disks, deduplication can more effectively reduce the amount of data that needs to be stored, as empty blocks can be more fully deduplicated.
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/compression_deduplication.html?ver=120 We recommend you enable data deduplication if your backup jobs contain several VMs that have a lot of free space on their logical disks or VMs that have similar data blocks — for example, VMs that were created from the same template. Veeam Data Mover in the target side deduplicates VM data at the level of the backup file. It processes data for all VM disks of all VMs in the job.
