VMCE 2021 Exam - Question 70

The director of a business needs a folder of MS Office files restored from the corporate shared drive. This drive sits on a Windows VM backed up by Veeam Backup & Replication. The director wants the files restored to their original location and to replace the original files. What functionality will be used to restore the folder using the Veeam Guest OS restoration wizard?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: CD

To restore the folder of MS Office files to their original location and to replace the original files using Veeam Backup & Replication, you would use the 'Overwrite' function. This option ensures that the files from the backup replace the original files on the target machine.

Correct D If you select Overwrite, the object from the backup will replace the original object on the target machine. If you select Keep, the object from the backup will be restored next to the original object on the target machine. The restored object will have the _RESTORED_<DATE>_<TIME> prefix in its name, where <DATE>_<TIME> is the restore date and time. [For Microsoft Windows] If you select Permissions Only, you will restore file (or folder) permissions that were granted to users and groups to access the object. You can restore permissions only if the object exists on the target machine.

D is correct as the only 2 options are keep or overwrite. Be wary that there is another version of this question where they ask for existing files to NOT be overwritten. For that one the answer is to use "Keep"

D. Restore the files using the “Overwrite” function. Original files will be removed.
