TDA-C01 Exam - Question 20

You need to change the values of a dimension without creating a new field.

What should you do?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

To change the values of a dimension without creating a new field, you should create aliases. Creating aliases allows you to specify alternate names for the values within a dimension, altering how they appear in the view without affecting the underlying data or needing to create a new field.

It asks to change the values of a dimension, therefore you would want to use Aliases. This allows you to look into individual values and change what they are called. Renaming would only rename the field.

one can quickly define an alias for the dimension value. It will be used for the display only. For applying any filter condition on aliased dimension, pls use original value.
