Attempting to use Statistical Process Control (SPC) for tracking transaction times at a warehouse is an undesirable situation. SPC is best suited for processes which produce measurable and consistent data over time, like manufacturing processes. Transaction times in a warehouse might be too variable or influenced by too many external factors to effectively apply SPC techniques. While wider control limits than customer specification limits may also be an issue, they do not inherently make the implementation of SPC undesirable.
