A Sprint Goal is an objective set for the Sprint that provides guidance to the Development Team on why it is building the Increment. It is created during the Sprint Planning meeting with collaboration from the entire Scrum Team, based on a business objective the Product Owner would like to achieve that Sprint. This gives the Development Team flexibility and creativity on how to implement functionality during the Sprint, as they can adjust their approach while still aiming to meet the overall goal.
