Certified Business Analyst Exam - Question 83

A business analyst (BA) at Universal Containers looks at the user stories for a new implementation of the Salesforce Customer Data Platform (CDP) and notices they are too large. The BA recommends that the large stories be broken down into smaller stories which will decrease the future level of effort for subsequent activities.

Which activity will be most impacted by breaking down the user stories?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

Breaking down large user stories into smaller ones will primarily impact estimation. Smaller user stories are easier to estimate in terms of effort, time, and resources needed for completion. This helps in creating more accurate and reliable estimates for planning and resource allocation in future activities.

Each user story should have acceptance criteria which is a way of confirming that the user story has been completed. So, with broken down user stories, that would mean acceptance criteria would be impacted because those broken down user stories will need their own specific acceptance criteria?
