Certified CPQ Specialist Exam - Question 88

Universal Containers offers the same Products in different regions of the country. Each sales rep is assigned to a single region numbered 1 through 10.

Each region has some Products which are region-specific and unavailable to users from other regions. Managers can add Products to a sales rep's Quotes that are inaccessible to other sales reps.

The Admin has created and populated a custom Region field on the Product object.

Which two steps should the Admin take to meet the business requirement? (Choose two.)

Show Answer
Correct Answer: ACD

To meet the business requirement of restricting product visibility based on regions and allowing managers to add specific products to quotes, the admin should add a search filter to the Add Products custom action to filter products based on the current user, as this enables sales reps to see only those products relevant to their region (Step A). Additionally, the admin should use product rules to hide products from some sales reps, ensuring region-specific products are not accessible to other regions (Step D). This combination effectively manages product visibility while allowing managerial overrides.

Price books would not work. The price book is defined per quote not per user, so the sales managers would not be able to add a product from a different price book to the quote. Personalized search filters based on users with more products available to the managers is the way to go.

Isn't AD redundant ? I think that AB is the way to go, since, without a price book, sreps won't go very far
