Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator Exam - Question 46

A user asks Marketing Cloud admin to review their permissions since they are unable to send an email. The admin reviews the user account and notices the user has three roles assigned: Content Creator, Data Manager, and Marketing Cloud Viewer.

What should the admin do to resolve the issue so the user can send an email?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

To resolve the issue, the admin should edit the user's permissions and grant the user the explicit permission to send emails. While the user's current roles (Content Creator, Data Manager, and Marketing Cloud Viewer) do not inherently provide the ability to send emails, directly granting the permission to send emails addresses the specific problem the user is facing without altering their role configuration.

The answer should be C. Deny permissions outweigh Allow permissions so the MC Viewer role needs to be disabled as they prohibits certain actions within MC. https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.mc_overview_roles.htm&type=5

The roles are Content Creator, Data Manager, and Marketing Cloud Viewer. None of the roles allow sending mails. Marketing Cloud Viewer denies sending mail, but removing the role does not allow it. You have to set the right to send explicit, or you remove the Marketing Cloud Viewer role but add at least the Marketing Cloud Channel Manager
