ADM-201 Exam - Question 67

The System Administrator has been asked to ensure an email goes out to Sales Ops when an opportunity is closed notifying them of the closed deal. What evaluation criteria will the system admin use for the workflow rule?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

To notify Sales Ops when an opportunity is closed, the evaluation criteria for the workflow rule should be 'When a record is created/updated and didn't previously meet the trigger criteria'. This is because the notification should be sent when the opportunity status is updated to 'closed', which wouldn't have met the criteria before this change. This ensures that the email is only sent when the opportunity transitions to the 'closed' status.

There are only 3 evaluation criteria for records in Workflow Rule: 1. created 2. created, and every time it's edited. 3. created, and any time it's edited to subsequently meet criteria. The answer seems to be incorrect here. The correct answer should be "created, and any time it's edited to subsequently meet criteria".

As nidhi71 and anandheee stated "There are only 3 evaluation criteria for records in Workflow Rule: 1. created 2. created, and every time it's edited. 3. created, and any time it's edited to subsequently meet criteria. In this scenario we do not want an email to be sent when the oportunity is created so answer A is false. We do not want an email to be sent when the oportunity is created and updated (updated=edited) only because it may be updated but not neccessarily closed so answer B is false. Only when the criteria is "closed" (not previously met) can an email be sent but to change the stage to "closed" we need to update (edit) the opportunity. Hence answer C appears to be correct, IMO.

The correct answer (In this case) is D. There is no such workflow, and the correct answer is not listed, so the correct answer should be 'None of the Above'.

I also think it’s incorrect.

Answer should be D. Not at all C as it is not even an actual option there. Should be Evaluate the rule when a record is: created, and anytime it’s edited to subsequently meet criteria
