Universal Containers has developed a new subscription Product that will replace anther subscription Product.

The admin needs to ensure:

Only the new Product can be added to new Quotes.

Contracts with the old Product can be amended.

Renewals will be created with the replacement Product.

Which two actions should the admin take to meet the requirements? (Choose two.)

Show Answer
Correct Answer: ABC

To meet the requirements of ensuring only the new product can be added to new quotes, maintain amendments for contracts with the old product, and manage renewals with the replacement product, the admin should take the following actions: First, uncheck the Active field on all Price Book entries for the old product so it cannot be added to new quotes. Next, set the Renewal Product field on the old product to lookup to the new product to ensure renewals are created with the replacement product. These steps will ensure the old product remains available for amendments but is excluded from new quotes and is correctly replaced in renewals.

Inactivate the product and then update the renewal field to the new product.

Actually, I think it's B&C based on https://milomassimo.com/Salesforce-CPQ-Product-End-of-Life-Scenario.html If you remove all price book entries, you can't use the product in an amendment. And you can't use it if it's deactivated.

You shouldn't deactivate the product as it will stop it from renewing even if you specify a new renewal product, as it will disappear from the QLE. I think it is A & B.

Yes the requirement is not only to renew new products but also add only new products to the quote, then we need to remove old products from the quote. This can be achieved from the AB option.

A. Uncheck the Active field on all Price Book entries for the old Product. Can't be A. If we deactivate all the price book entries, then it won't be available for amendments - would return an error since the pricebookId would be missing. D. Make the Product unavailable by unchecking the Active field on the old Product. Can't be D - the product would disappear from the QLE during amendment

This is the correct option: Deactivating the product will make it unavailable. It will display an error on the amendement quote saying it won't sync to the opp, but you will be able to update the amendement quote and and update the contract correctly. B is obviously right as well for renewall
