Certified CPQ Specialist Exam - Question 212

A user has created two Quotes related to an Opportunity. The user has changed the Primary Quote by checking the Primary checkbox on the non-Primary Quote. After performing this action, the amount of the Opportunity fails to update and the Quote Lines fail to sync to the Opportunity.

What is the root cause of this issue?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: BD

The root cause of the issue is that the triggers have been disabled in the Installed Package Settings. When the primary quote is changed, triggers need to be active to update the opportunity amount and sync the quote lines. Disabling these triggers prevents these updates from occurring, leading to the observed issue.

I think it's C? Not D as - "When a sales rep deselects the Primary field on a quote, the quote keeps the opportunity products it inherited when it was made primary." - if Primary Quote Keeps Opportunity Products is ticked, that is. Source: https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.cpq_package_quotes.htm&type=5 In D's case, the field is NOT ticked. So opp products should move over to the new quote.

Also not C, as even if Primary is removed from the FieldSet, the calculation still triggers if it is changed.

While B and D can be the root problem, the answer here is D since the question dictates that the issue happens only after checking primary on the non-primary (trick question).
