Question 17

MANAGING A STAGE BOUNDARY -

The project is approaching the end of stage 3 and the pilot courses have been planned. The project manager is now undertaking the 'managing a stage boundary' process.

Which action should the project manager undertake as part of the 'update the business case' activity?

    Correct Answer: B

Updating the business case as part of 'managing a stage boundary' involves ensuring the project remains viable and justifiable. This includes revising the overall plan and resources to complete the project based on the actual progress, costs, and resource usage from the preceding stage. By doing this, it maintains the accuracy and relevance of the business case and ensures the project still aligns with its intended benefits and objectives. Therefore, the project manager should revise the overall plan and resources to complete the project, based on actuals from the stage 3 plan.

Discussion

B. Revise the overall plan and resources to complete the project, based on actuals from the stage 3 plan. Updating the business case involves ensuring that the project remains viable and justifiable given the current situation. This includes revising the overall plan and resource requirements based on the actual progress and costs incurred during the previous stage (in this case, stage 3). This revision helps ensure that the project is on track and that the business case remains valid for continuing with the project.

Can you explain the rational behind D please Pollon? How does this relate to "Examine & Review" Thanks

ChivasaOption: B

19.4.3 page 252

PieroBeOption: D

To my opinion it is D. According to Ref. 19.4.3: "Update the benefit management approach with the results from any benefit management actions undertaken during the (completed) management stage" as we can assume the fact pilot courses have been planned during closing stage 3 can trigger when the number of learners can be measured.

ManikRoyOption: D

Option D seems to be the correct answer to me as this is updating business case with actions for benefit management review of next stage. Ref 19.4.3 in the manual , Examine and Review last point -- whether any benefits reviews are required in the next management stage
