Question 81

What is shown in a product breakdown structure?

    Correct Answer: C

A product breakdown structure (PBS) is used to illustrate and decompose the major products into their components, providing a hierarchical overview of these items. This helps in organizing and structuring the work required to develop each product. The PBS does not focus on the order of creation, management stages, control points, or resources required, but rather on identifying and documenting the major deliverables and their constituent parts.

Steven2021Option: B

Answers A and C should not be correct at all. According to the Prince2 book, 6th ed page 25, chapter 3.6, there are two type of products: management products and specialist products. No "major products" are defined in the entire book. There is no such thing called major products!

Junior_SimOption: B

Answer should be B. Hierachy

I dont think this is what is meant by hierachy. With hierachy its shown to to have several products, each product having its "sub products" (for example to set up a conference you need a venue, attendees, speakers etc.), and each sub products have their own sub items. So in that way its hierarchical. But being hierarchical doesnt mean there a certain order of products that need to be done first. This can be shown in a flow chart, based on the product breakdown (which products are interdependent, which need to be created first etc.).
