PMP Exam - Question 220

A project team is working on the design of a solution for a complex project. Due to a lack of clarity of the customer's requirements, daily meetings were agreed upon between the team and the customer. There are a few external contractors in the project who do not agree with this idea as they feel it is a waste of time.

What should the project manager do?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

Involving the contractors as part of the project team is the most appropriate course of action. Including them in daily meetings with the customer can help address their concerns, improve communication, and ensure alignment on project objectives and requirements. This approach fosters collaboration, enhances understanding of customer needs, and may change the contractors' perspective on the value of the meetings. It is essential to integrate all stakeholders to ensure the project's success.

Can't understand why A is correct - if the contractors not agreeing with this idea then how are they going to attend the meeting if there are invited? thoughts?

Agile looks like that you have to be open minded and take it easy :)

Thanks for your comment - can you please explain it more to me. What is meant by welcoming the contractor to the team?

contractors seems to be exposed with predictive model. inviting them to stand up meeting will expose them to agile methodology, which in turn could change their mind that this is not a waste of time afterall.

But they feel its a waste of time, how are you going to invite them to meetings that they refused to attend in the first place?

As per the Question , there is lack of clarity in requirements, so I think customer should provide requirements clearly, that will be problem solving, C is better choice

A. Welcome and involve the contractors as part of the project team. Most Voted C. Ask the customer to develop a document with the requirements. A is wrong. The contractors will not feel welcomed as they thought the meeting would waste time. Rather than that, it would be better to check if they are well aware of the requirement.
