PMP Exam - Question 515

The team is working on a critical project deliverable and the project manager is concerned about meeting the deadline. There have been complaints from some stakeholders about some of the team members' performance. The project manager wants to understand the situation and provide feedback to the team as soon as possible.

What three actions should the project manager take to address this situation? (Choose three.)

Show Answer
Correct Answer: BCD

To address the situation where the project manager is concerned about meeting the deadline and complaints from stakeholders have been received about some team members' performance, the project manager should: 1) Perform a retrospective session, which allows the team to reflect on the work done so far, identify issues, and determine areas for improvement. 2) Implement daily team meetings to enhance communication and coordination among team members, leading to better project performance. 3) Request a manager performance review to gain insights from higher management or stakeholders which can help to highlight areas needing improvement or additional support. Introducing or redefining ground rules (option A) and conducting an annual review (option E) do not directly address the immediate performance concerns and meeting the deadline.

IT'S ABC. Why? Cause PMI says so. Ground rules can be reinforced, modified or removed in case of unacceptable/UNPRODUCTIVE BEHAVIOR. MY SOURCE?PMI ITSELF! https://www.projectmanagement.com/wikis/343443/Ground-Rules#:~:text=Ground%20rules%20establish%20how%20meetings,by%20minimizing%20confusion%20and%20misunderstandings. PLEASE PROVIDE CREDIBLE BASIS ON YOUR ANSWERS! SOME PEOPLE JUST WENT STRAIGHT HERE AND ANSWERED INCORRECTLY. AT LEAST HAVE THE DECENCY TO ACTUALLY RESEARCH AND REVIEW

B. Perform a retrospective session: Conducting a retrospective session allows the team to reflect on what has been working well and what hasn't. This is a constructive way to identify issues affecting performance, gather feedback, and develop strategies for improvement. It's also an opportunity to address specific stakeholder complaints in a context that fosters learning and improvement.

C. Implement daily team meetings: Daily meetings, often referred to as stand-ups in agile methodologies, are short and focused. They provide a platform for team members to discuss their progress, identify any blockers or challenges, and align on the day's objectives. This can enhance team communication and coordination, which can directly impact performance and the ability to meet deadlines.

D. Request a manager performance review: This involves seeking feedback from higher management or other relevant stakeholders on the team's performance. It can provide a different perspective on the team's work and highlight areas that might need improvement or additional support. This feedback can then be constructively used to guide the team towards better performance.

The team is already working on a critical project deliverable. It means team ground rules were already defined when the team started working on this project. If A was Review team ground rules, it could be an answer. But, it this question, I'll choose B,C,D

Groud rules can be updated or refined but not defined at that stage !! NOT A Annual review is not adressing the immediate concern NOT E B C and D is the best 3 choice

I choose ABC because of PM do not need to involve manaeger (C) at this time and annual review is not main purpose to indentify this issue
