Question 593

The project sponsor on an agile project informed the project lead that an executive would like an update on the project's progress.

What should the project lead do?

    Correct Answer: B

In an agile project, transparent and frequent communication is key. Inviting the executive to the project's meeting space allows them to directly observe the information radiators like task boards and burndown charts, which offer a real-time, visual update on the project's progress. This approach aligns with agile principles of maintaining open, face-to-face, and collaborative interactions, ensuring that the executive gets a clear understanding of the project's current status and workflow.

Discussion
Hung3102Option: B

When an executive requests an update on an agile project, the project lead should invite them to the project's meeting space. This is because agile teams use visual information radiators to keep stakeholders informed of the project's progress. This will help the executive to see the current status of the project and understand how the team is working. Additionally, the project lead can use this opportunity to discuss any concerns or issues that the executive may have.

[Removed]Option: C

If the executive is not a part of the project team but a stakeholder then shouldn't PMO be contacted to ensure that the templates are good to communicate? Thoughts?

aishOption: B

Option C suggests reaching out to the project management office (PMO) for status report templates and providing project updates in that format. While this could be a valid approach for status reporting in traditional project management, it may not align well with the agile approach. In agile projects, the focus is on frequent and transparent communication, and information radiators such as task boards, burndown charts, and other visual indicators are commonly used to keep the team and stakeholders updated on progress. Agile projects generally emphasize face-to-face interactions and collaborative discussions over formal reports.

noppyOption: C

I will go to C. There is a clear explnation of what is information radiators in PMBOK as below "Information radiator : This artifact is a visible, physical display that provides information to the rest of the organization, enabling timely knowledge sharing." I don't think executive can be considered as "the rest of the organization". I think executive is busy and has to decide many things. It means they need to shorten checking time for information. How to shorten this time? use something familiar with. that why we use report template if it exists.

Bobbie30Option: A

Sounds more like A to me. Any thoughts?

DavidTriOption: B

PM should navigate executive to project information radiators to get the info which they want because all info record and store there

6thEditionAndyOption: B

In theory B, in practice C. If the CFO needs an update, you are not asking him to come down to your work space so he can look at a board. The CFO wants a slide that he can re-use in his own presentation.

Only12goOption: B

When an executive expresses interest in an update on an agile project, the project lead should ensure effective communication while minimizing disruptions to the team's work. Option B is the most appropriate course of action:

B. Invite the executive to the project's meeting space to determine if the project information radiators meet their needs

TONYJAVIOption: B

Option B seems way more Agile than C.
