Which protocol is supported by GlobalProtect Clientless VPN?
GlobalProtect Clientless VPN supports HTTPS as it is a web-based protocol used for secure communication over the internet. Clientless VPNs rely on browser-based access, which typically requires HTTPS to ensure a secure and encrypted connection. While other technologies such as RDP and SSH can be accessed via the clientless VPN, they are done so in a manner proxied over HTTPS, making HTTPS the core protocol supported directly by the clientless VPN.
Clientless VPN supports only HTTPS as the connection needs to be browser based. All other access like RDP/SSH are proxied via https
GlobalProtect Clientless VPN supports the following Web application technologies: HTML HTML5 HTML5-Web-Sockets Javascript ES5 or earlier RDP, VNC, or SSH So A and B are not correct. C and D are both correct answers, maybe the question should be added (select two). * https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/globalprotect/10-1/globalprotect-admin/globalprotect-clientless-vpn/supported-technologies * https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000ClRaCAK
Agree, however it will work with any web based application so might do https if it does http - example, access to https website via GP clientless. If I had a un to my head I would go for FTP as it's the only non web based application. RDP can be done via browser as well as SSH.
B: After further review, I agree with bearfromdownunder. The clientless VPN supports access to other applications via web browser, so they are proxied over https. https://networkwiki.blogspot.com/2017/03/palo-alto-networks-clientless-vpn-and.html
HTTPS is used as a protocol to connect to the portal. RDP, SSH are "Web Application Technologies" according to Palo docs. I'm going with B based the word "protocol"
C & D both correct: RDP, VNC, or SSH
B is correct
The question has to be wrong, it should either say which protocol is NOT supported, and that will be FTP. Otherwise, it should be a multiple selection for SSH and RDP. HTTPS is not a supported protocol because is the default.
B is correct, the question is asking which protocol it supports and doesnt ask for web or non-web apps/technologies clientless vpn supports.
like others mentioned , only https , ssh and rdp are proxied
SSH and RDP
RDP and SSH are proxied through HTML5 wich is HTTPS Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Virtual Machine (VM) environments, such as Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop or VMWare Horizon and Vcenter, support access natively through HTML5. You can RDP, VNC, or SSH to these machines through Clientless VPN without requiring additional third-party middleware. In environments that do not include native support for HTML5 or other web application technologies supported by Clientless VPN, you can use third-party vendors, such as Thinfinity, to RDP through Clientless VPN.
