To perform online data migration using Foreign LUN Import (FLI), FCP protocol Logical Interfaces (LIFs) and FCP initiator ports are required. FLI does not directly support iSCSI connections; thus, the LUNs must be presented over FCP. Therefore, adding FCP protocol LIFs and ensuring the availability of FCP initiator ports is necessary to establish the required connections for the migration process.
A&B...FLI does not support iSCSI connections directly. In order for iSCSI LUNs to be migrated using FLI, the LUN type must be changed to FC. After the migration is complete, the LUN type is changed back to iSCSI.
