NS0-184 Exam - Question 33

You want to disconnect a DS224C shelf with 3.8 TB NetApp Storage Encryption (NSE) SSDs to an AFF A300 HA pair with two DS224C shelves with 3.8 TB SSDs without NSE in one stack.

In this scenario, how would you add the shelf?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

To add a DS224C shelf with 3.8 TB NetApp Storage Encryption (NSE) SSDs to an AFF A300 HA pair, you must connect the shelf to an HA pair with NSE drives. This is because NSE drives cannot be mixed with non-NSE drives in the same node or HA pair.

https://kb.netapp.com/onprem/ontap/os/Does_NetApp_support_encrypted_and_non-encrypted_disks_on_the_same_node NetApp Storage Encryption (NSE) uses Self-Encrypting Disks (SED) that are FIPS certified. Drives of this type CAN NOT be mixed with drives that are not FIPS certified SEDs in the same node or HA pair.
