Question 37

Click the Exhibit button.

An administrator realizes that daily snapshots are not being replicated to their destination. The administrator can see the daily snapshots created at the source.

The exhibit shows the policy in use. Weekly snapshots are being replicated without a problem, and the SnapMirror relationship is showing as "healthy".

In this scenario, what is causing the problem with the daily snapshot?

    Correct Answer: A

The issue with daily snapshots not being replicated to their destination is likely due to the SnapMirror label not being applied to the daily snapshots. The exhibit shows that the SnapMirror policy includes rules for both daily and weekly snapshots, with specific labels for each. For snapshots to be replicated based on the policy, they need to have the correct SnapMirror label applied. Therefore, if the daily snapshots do not have the 'daily' label, they will not be recognized and replicated according to the policy rules, even though the SnapMirror relationship is healthy and weekly snapshots are replicated without issues.

Discussion
BigEarsOption: D

I think the answer is D. Here's why: Stated in Question that the Admin can see the snapshots are created at the source, so not A, Weekly are transferred ok, so not B (the peer is clearly working), We are trying to replicate a snapshot so it being busy should cause no problem unless we were trying to delete it (So not C). This is a vault snapmirror relationship: see SnapMirror Policy Type in the exibit. This requires a snapshot policy to create the snapshot using the SnapMirror Label attribute (This is working - the admin can see them), plus a snapmirror Policy rule to transfer the SnapShots based upon SnapMirror Label. So it seems the SnapMirror policy at destination doesn't match the SnapVault policy at source; it is missing the rule to transfer the daily snapshots. ... is my suggestion. (so D is the answer)

andersonneoOption: A

A is the best Option

ans is A

r3b0rnd4rthOption: A

since I could test that in the ONTAP Sim, I can say, that A ist the best option, as well. If the peering isn't working as intended you couldn't even start replication or initialize the snapmirror.

anonymous515Option: B

Not sure this is correct. Honestly though I don't know what the right answer is. I'm thinking the SVM peering is off because everything else is invalid.

runnerbean

Not sure as well but it does say that the weekly snapshots are working so the SVM peer must be working.

anonymous515

Might be A then

runnerbean

Agreed, "A" looks to be the best option
