In the reference that you sent to argument number 2 it says "get data" if you careful read the instrunctions.
yes, as per the video, get data wont will just load the excel file. To pin it in the dashboard you need to select the entire range and pin it. Only then it will be visible in the dahsboard.

2 Get Data - further info - In the Power BI menu terminology Get Data is where you browse for files or other data connections while Import means importing .pbit or .pbiviz templates to reuse visuals

There is no import from the Choices.
