Question 45

Note: This question is part of a series of questions that present the same scenario. Each question in the series contains a unique solution that might meet the stated goals. Some question sets might have more than one correct solution, while others might not have a correct solution.

After you answer a question in this section, you will NOT be able to return to it. As a result, these questions will not appear in the review screen.

You configure and run the profile unification process merge step.

One of the merged attributes includes a field you need to remove from the unified profile.

Solution: Open the map configuration screen, deselect the field for mapping, and re-run the match.

Does this solution meet the goal?

    Correct Answer: B

After configuring and running a profile unification process with a merge step, if a field needs to be removed from the unified profile, merely deselecting the field in the map configuration screen and re-running the match step would not meet the goal. The correct approach requires re-running the merge step after making the necessary adjustments to ensure the field is excluded from the unified profile. Simply deselecting a field for mapping does not automatically exclude it from the final unified profile unless the merge step is properly re-executed to reflect these changes.

Discussion
8014bfeOption: A

I believe A actually is the correct answer to this question: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/data/data-unification-update The "solution" says to rerun Match, and we actually need to rerun Merge in this instance. Plus, merely selecting or deselecting a field does nothing. You have to specifically tell CI-D to exclude it from the customer profile before you rerun it.

Oop. Sorry, I meant B is actually the correct answer. I wish I had the ability to edit my answer. :-(

valvOption: A

I believe this should be A. During the Unify step, you can choose which columns to include or exclude, specifically using those checkboxes. The Merge step does not provide direct control over individual columns, so this happens after you make the corrections in the Unify step..
