AZ-301 Exam - Question 146

You have an Azure subscription that contains an Azure Blob storage account named store1.

You have an on-premises file server named Server1 that runs Windows Server 2016. Server1 stores 500 GB of company files.

You need to store a copy of the company files in store1.

Which two possible Azure services achieve this goal? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.

NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

Show Answer
Correct Answer: AD

To store a copy of the company files from an on-premises file server into Azure Blob storage, two suitable Azure services can be used. First, an Azure Import/Export job is a viable option as it allows the transfer of large amounts of data to Azure Blob storage. It is especially useful for data sizes that might be cumbersome to transfer over the internet. Second, Azure Data Factory can also achieve this by using its Copy Activity feature to move data from various sources, including on-premises file servers, into Azure Blob storage. Both of these solutions provide complete ways to handle the data transfer effectively.

Why use Azure Export/Import as data is not large enough? It is only 500GB.

The on-premises data gateway provides secure data transfer between on-premises data sources and your Azure Analysis Services servers in the cloud. Also the goal is to do things with that data once it arrives in Azure, this is not a requirement here as we just want to store the data.

They're not asking if you SHOULD do it, they're asking two things: CAN you do it and is it a complete solution. The answer is yes to both of those so A is correct.

Answer A. and D both cannot be used together. If Azure Export/Import is used due to large volume then you do not need Azure Data factory which is used for lower volume.

Both answers are COMPLETE solutions so B and E are rules out right away as they have nothing to do with data storage. Of the remaining 3 only A & D satisfy the requirements

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-import-export-data-from-blobs "Required. The size of drives to use for an export job, e.g., 500 GB, 1.5 TB.", this is up to 40 TB in 5 discs. So Answeer A is correct

so if each answer was not a complete solution- the answer would be D and E FYI- Edit find gateway in this document to see why- https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/edit/main/articles/data-factory/v1/data-factory-onprem-file-system-connector.md
