MB-320 Exam - Question 53

A company is implementing Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management in their manufacturing environment. The manufacturing process uses formulas to direct material consumption on the batch orders.

During production some items in the formula must be consumed automatically from the production area, while some must be picked with their actual consumption reported on a pick list.

You need to determine which setup method is used for formula lines to allow for the desired mixed method picking processes.

What are two possible ways to achieve this goal? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.

NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

Correct Answer: CD

To achieve the desired mixed method picking processes in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, you can use the following setups: 1) Leaving the flushing principle blank on the formula lines and setting the default flushing principle on the items based on the consumption method for the item. This allows for specific flushing principles from the item level to be applied when the formula lines are left blank. 2) Setting the flushing principle on each formula line based on the consumption method for the line, which directly specifies the required method for each formula line. These methods provide a comprehensive solution for managing automatic and pick-list-based material consumption in production.

In my opinion CD This is described in the formula's flushing principle: "If a Flushing Principle is specified on the BOM, then that will be the flushing principle that would be applicable. Otherwise, though the Flushing principle for the item does not show up on the BOM Line, the Flushing principle that is set on the item will be applicable for the BOM line whenever the Flushing principle is blank or not set on the BOM line."
