Question 15

You have a Microsoft 365 subscription that uses Microsoft Intune Suite.

You use Microsoft Intune to manage devices.

You have a Windows 11 device named Device1 that is enrolled in Intune. Device1 has been offline for 30 days.

You need to remove Device1 from Intune immediately. The solution must ensure that if the device checks in again, any apps and data provisioned by Intune are removed. User-installed apps, personal data, and OEM-installed apps must be retained.

What should you use?

    Correct Answer: A

To immediately remove Device1 from Intune and ensure that any apps and data provisioned by Intune are removed the next time the device checks in, you should use a Delete action. This action removes the device from the Intune admin center right away, and when the device checks in again, it will remove company data. This method ensures user-installed apps, personal data, and OEM-installed apps are retained.

Discussion
ExamKiller020Option: A

The clue in this question is: You need to remove Device1 from Intune immediately So basically the only option that is left is 'delete' as this instantly removes the device from intune and only removes company data. ref: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/remote-actions/devices-wipe#delete-devices-from-the-intune-admin-center

This action immediately deletes the device from Intune, and it cannot be undone. However, it does not trigger a wipe of the device.

ThePrutser

Straight from learn.microsoft.com: If you want to remove devices from the Intune admin center, you can delete them from the specific device pane. The next time the device checks in, any company data on it will be removed as Intune also retires a device when deleting it from the admin center. So I vote A

I agree it's a bad question that contradicts it's self, ,but deleting the device leaves the company data and apps on the device. Retire will remove company data and apps as soon as it's next online. Delete will just prevent Intune management /access to Company Portal, but will no longer give you the ability to control data under DLP for example which you likely want to remove. Retire will do this, and as the device is offline anyway, there should be no reason to remove it "immediately" from Intune.

AppSphere23

There is no reason to it but it states in the Question that the device (for whatever reason) needs to be removed so retiring it doesn't fill the requirements, since it then is still in Intune.

slimmerik7Option: A

Only correct option is 'A - Delete'. This will immediately remove the device from Intune (as requested) AND yes this will also remove all company data the next time the device checks in. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/remote-actions/devices-wipe#delete-devices-from-the-intune-admin-center

MR_EliotOption: A

Correct Answer Shoud Be A. Deleting the device from intune, immediatly remove it from Intune, and next time device comes online, company data will be wiped.

MR_Eliot

I have tested this on a device. A is correct!

HekagrosOption: A

The correct answer is: "A" - delete because the keyword in the question is "remove immediately" The below article says: " If you want to remove stale devices immediately, use the Delete action instead." https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/remote-actions/devices-wipe

Answer is B https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/remote-actions/devices-wipe Retiring the device wipes company data and apps leaving only the personal data and apps

Maclouis116

My apologies A is the correct answer we need to remove the device immediately therefore A is correct

CJL324Option: B

A A. Delete action: This removes the device from Intune but does not remove any provisioned apps or data if the device checks in again. B. Retire action: This removes managed apps, settings, and data provisioned by Intune while keeping user-installed apps, personal data, and OEM-installed apps.

ten1tonOption: A

I selected A. The Retire action removes managed app data (where applicable), settings, and email profiles that were assigned by using Intune. The device is removed from Intune management. Removal happens the next time the device checks in and receives the remote Retire action. The device still shows up in Intune until the device checks in. If you want to remove stale devices immediately, use the Delete action instead.

B, I belive it is B

ckmayOption: A

In order to remove a stale device from the subscription, you need to use the delete action. Retiring a device means it will remove the data, but it will still be visible in Intune. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/remote-actions/devices-wipe#delete-devices-from-the-intune-portal
