NO! yes, yes is the correct answer. OS does NOT fall under IaaS
Except it does...? By using IaaS. you are responsible for managing the OS.
wrong. read this: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/overview/what-is-iaas/
OS does not come under Iaas
How can you even debate it? Microsoft has it stated in their own documentation. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/cloud-computing-dictionary/what-is-iaas
it ABSOLUTELY DOES!
Think about this.... Fact: VMs host an OS (e.g. Win10, Linux, etc). Fact: VMs are considered part of IaaS solution Fact: Technically IaaS is providing an OS via the VM for the customer....same concepts applies to a SERVER which also hosts an OS (e.g. Win Svr 2019)....all of these OS's make the connections to storage and networking as well. With that rationale, the answer to: "Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provides SERVERS, VIRTUAL MACHINES (VMs), storage, networks, and OPERATING SYSTEMS to customers"....the answer would be YES based on how the statement is worded and the facts that are known. The trick to these questions is to not get caught up or look way deeper into the question beyond what it is asking. In a lot of these questions, there is a buzz word added that makes the answer more of a NO. That applies to all of these questions in MS-900 or for that matter, all questions on MS exams. MS purposely words these questions to try to get you to think beyond what they are asking. Try not to get wrapped around the axle.
Thats correct. You buy your VM and can pay extra to have whatever version of Windows/Linux you want installed. There is also Azure Hybrid Benefit which is a licensing benefit that helps you to significantly reduce the costs of running your workloads in the cloud. It works by letting you use your on-premises Software Assurance-enabled Windows Server and SQL Server licences on Azure. And now, this benefit applies to RedHat and SUSE Linux subscriptions too
these IaaS, PaaS, SaaS questions are quite annoying really as the borderline ones are , well a bit pointless in the real world anyway - like who cares about the label applied to it if you understand what it does! BUT the key to this one is 'As A Service' part in IaaS - ask yourself what elements are being provided as a SERVICE , i.e. being provided by Microsoft and they are fully responsible for that part and you can remove OS from that making the first one NO. Yes , an OS get included with the VM when you spin it up or it cant boot, but the OS is not managed by MS and therefore is NOT a service within IaaS.
exam Question in September
Do you know what the correct answer was - is it YYY?
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/cloud-computing-dictionary/what-is-iaas/ IaaS lets you bypass the cost and complexity of buying and managing physical servers and datacenter infrastructure. Each resource is offered as a separate service component, and you only pay for a particular resource for as long as you need it. A cloud computing service provider like Azure manages the infrastructure, while you purchase, install, configure, and manage your own software—including operating systems, middleware, and applications. NYY correct
For everyone thinking OS falls under IaaS check the link dat jim85 posted.
NO, Yes Yes. First is NO because per the link storage/network/security is not IaaS BUT OS is absolutely IaaS
Iaas do not have operating systems Correct answers should No,Yes,Yes
N, Y, Y https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/security/fundamentals/shared-responsibility
using Iaas the user is responsible for the OS
i belive instead of OS we need to focus on Servers as server is provided by cloud host not IAAS
frist statement is true!iaas provide server os and everything
Y/Y/Y - again https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/security/fundamentals/shared-responsibility#division-of-responsibility
NO, Yes Yes.
Correct! OS does not fall under IaaS
Please stop upvoting anyone who says IaaS is not OS management. That is ludicrously incorrect and a key differentiator.
IaaS is where you can deploy your own choice of operating systems to run on. If the cloud service gives you OS then it is a PaaS.
