MS-900 Exam - Question 23

Note: The question is included in a number of questions that depicts the identical set-up. However, every question has a distinctive result. Establish if the solution satisfies the requirements.

You have recently made use of Windows Autopilot to deploy Windows 10 devices in your company's environment.

You have been asked to make sure that data that stored in OneDrive for Business is available to users from remote locations.

Solution: You inform users that they should use their Microsoft Azure AD credentials to sign in to their devices.

Does the solution meet the goal?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

Simply instructing users to sign in with their Microsoft Azure AD credentials does not guarantee that data stored in OneDrive for Business will be available to users from remote locations. To ensure that the data is accessible remotely, additional configuration is required, such as setting up remote access to OneDrive for Business through VPNs or direct internet access.

Logging in with Azure AD credentials helps authenticate the user with their corporate account, but it does not automatically ensure that OneDrive for Business is properly synced or accessible. It is necessary for OneDrive for Business to be set up and configured on the devices to ensure that files are available locally or accessible over the internet. Therefore, the solution does not meet the goal, as it focuses only on the login process and not on the configuration of OneDrive. The answer is therefore B. No.

By informing users to sign in to their devices using their Microsoft Azure AD credentials, you are ensuring that they are using a trusted identity.

Configure OneDrive for Business: Ensure that users have the OneDrive for Business client installed on their Windows 10 devices. Users need to sign in to the OneDrive client with their Microsoft 365 credentials to sync their files. Enable Known Folder Move (KFM): Configure OneDrive to automatically sync desktop, documents, and pictures folders. This feature is called Known Folder Move (KFM) and ensures that these important folders are backed up to OneDrive and accessible from any device. Use Group Policy or Intune for Configuration: Use Group Policy or Microsoft Intune to automatically configure OneDrive settings on all managed devices. This ensures that users' OneDrive clients are set up correctly without requiring manual intervention. Inform Users: Educate users on how to access their OneDrive for Business files from remote locations using the OneDrive client or via the web at onedrive.com.

Informing users to use their Microsoft Azure AD credentials to sign in to their devices is necessary for identity management and access control but does not directly ensure that data stored in OneDrive for Business is available to users from remote locations. To ensure OneDrive for Business data is available remotely, the following actions are needed: Configure OneDrive Sync Client: Install and configure the OneDrive sync client on the devices to sync files between the local device and the cloud. Enable Known Folder Move (KFM): Redirect common folders (such as Desktop, Documents, and Pictures) to OneDrive, making them accessible from any device. Ensure Proper Licensing: Confirm that users have appropriate Microsoft 365 licenses that include OneDrive for Business. Secure Remote Access: Ensure users can access their OneDrive data securely, possibly using Conditional Access policies to manage access from remote locations. While using Azure AD credentials is a foundational step for managing access, it does not address the specific goal of making OneDrive data accessible from remote locations.

Informing is not enough. Making it available requires setting up the OneDrive sync client and ensuring it is properly configured to automatically sign in and sync files using the users' Azure AD credentials.

I am done with this site. It is confusing, outdated and does not provide the real answer other than discussions. It is literally a 50/50 tie between A and B. The correct answer is Entra ID, which is neither a nor b since the term is a new term. Microsoft should stop shifting terms. It's already overwhelming as it is.
