Question 407

What should you use to track the costs of Azure resources?

    Correct Answer: C

To track the costs of Azure resources, you should use budgets. Budgets allow you to set spending thresholds, receive alerts when those thresholds are met, and generate detailed cost and usage reports. This helps effectively monitor and control spending on Azure resources. Quickstart templates are for deploying resources, tags are for categorizing and organizing, and usage and quotas monitor resource consumption limits but do not directly track costs.

I think the answer should be Tags.

I would also say Tags due to my experience with with the first 400 questions. In a similar question "Configure Azure Cost Management budgets." was provided as answer and not just "budget" which is very unspecific. The keyword for me is "tracking" => tags. "usage and quotas" and "budget" is not possible to use for tracking!

helpme1Option: C

GPT: Budgets While "usage and quotas" can help you monitor and control the resource usage for your Azure subscriptions, it is not the best option to track the costs of Azure resources. "Usage and quotas" only show the amount of resources being consumed, but do not provide information on how much they cost. In contrast, "budgets" in Azure are a better option to track the costs of Azure resources, as they allow you to set up cost alerts based on your spending threshold, and provide detailed cost and usage reports. This helps you keep track of your spending on Azure resources and make informed decisions on cost optimization. While tags can be useful in categorizing and organizing Azure resources, they are not specifically designed to track the costs of those resources. For tracking costs, budgets in Azure Cost Management and Billing is the appropriate solution. With budgets, you can set spending limits and receive alerts when spending reaches a certain threshold, allowing you to monitor and manage your costs more effectively.

In Azure, options B (Tags), C (Budgets), and D (Usage and Quotas) offer distinct approaches to resource management and cost control: Tags help categorize resources for cost analysis by projects or departments but don't directly monitor spending. Budgets are key for cost tracking, allowing thresholds to be set for spending alerts or actions, making it the primary tool for financial oversight. Usage and Quotas focus on resource consumption and service limits, important for operational management rather than direct cost tracking. In essence, while all contribute to efficient Azure management, budgets are the most effective for directly tracking and controlling costs.

i love how ppl says GPT gave them 4 differents answers, so before you go GPT 2 possible options were in your head after GPT are 4

hit_cloudieOption: B

Correct answer is Tags : Azure Cost Management + Billing, a tool for setting budgets and gaining visibility into cloud costs for Azure or AWS, can use these tags to create different views of cost data.

any memory on what you might have answered with? genuinely lost with this question.

MIA33Option: B

Tags: Tags are metadata elements you can apply to Azure resources. They are useful for organizing and tracking costs by grouping resources based on department, project, environment, etc. For example, you can assign tags like "Department: Finance" or "Project: XYZ" and then use these tags to generate cost reports and track spending.

I would also say Tags due to my experience with with the first 400 questions. "budget" is very unspecific and not the right tool for tracking. The keyword for me is "tracking" => tags. "usage and quotas" and "budget" is not possible to use for tracking!

VenomX51Option: C

Answer is Budgets: Usage and Quotas shows you how many resources you have (and can set limits on how many), but does not relate these resource counts to costs. Budgets does. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/lab-services/how-to-determine-your-quota-usage

Eagrob_11Option: D

The answer is D. To even use common sense, if you want to "Track" the usage, you use "Usage and quotas". It doesn't make sense to say the budget to use the track of the "service you use". So it's Usage and Quotas.
