JN0-663 Exam - Question 46

Referring to the exhibit, you need to implement VPLS between CE-A1 and CE-A2. You must ensure that no loops are created due to the multihoming of the connection from CE-A2 to PE2 and PE3.

Based on the type of VPLS, which two solutions will satisfy this requirement? (Choose two.)

Show Answer
Correct Answer: AC

To prevent loops in a VPLS setup with multihoming connections at CE-A2 to PE-2 and PE-3, use the type of VPLS to determine the correct configuration. In an LDP-signaled VPLS, configuring a primary and backup neighbor is the correct approach to ensure loop prevention and redundancy. When using BGP-signaled VPLS, the appropriate setup is to configure multihoming and local preference on PE-2 and PE-3. These configurations appropriately handle the redundancy and loop prevention mechanisms for each VPLS type.

A and C are correct, i think. It's in JI2V student guide

If you want to enable multihoming for a VPLS routing instance, you cannot also enable LDP signaling. You can only enable BGP signaling.

CD only possible with BGP configure primary and secondary and multihoming

The A might mean the following although both LDP and BGP are required. https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos/vpn-l2/topics/topic-map/vpls-bgp-multihoming.html#example-configuring-vpls-multihoming-fec-1066

You would need autodiscovery for that

In your link it clearly says : If you want to enable multihoming for a VPLS routing instance, you cannot also enable LDP signaling. You can only enable BGP signaling.

@modema The question is clear "Based on the type", i.e, for LDP-Signaled type is necessary to use primary/backup (Answer A) and for BGP-signaled type is necessary to use multihoming / local preference (Answer C).

Is possible to Enable loop protection on that scenarios: 1 - Multihoming and local preference (BGP VPLS only) 2 - Primary and backup neighbor (LDP VPLS only) Because of that the correct asnwers are A and C.
