JN0-649 Exam - Question 46

You are using 802.1X authentication in your network to secure all ports. You have a printer that does not support 802.1X and you must ensure that traffic is allowed to and from this printer without authentication.

In this scenario, what will satisfy the requirement?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

Using static MAC bypass allows you to configure the switch to permit traffic to and from the printer based on its MAC address, bypassing the 802.1X authentication process. This solution ensures that the printer can communicate without the need for additional authentication mechanisms.

C. static MAC bypass D. MAC RADIUS These would both work, but question states that "you must ensure that traffic is allowed to and from this printer without authentication". With MAC RADIUS the MAC address is authenticated on radius server.

since they mention: "You are using 802.1X authentication in your network to secure all ports." you already have RADIUS, so I would prefer D over C.
