Question 13

Which of the following are triggers for Maintenance testing?

a) System migration from one platform to another.

b) Retirement of a system.

c) Preparation for an audit of a system.

d) Modifications to a system.

e) Development of a whole new system.

    Correct Answer: D

Maintenance testing is triggered by significant events or changes affecting the system. These include system migration from one platform to another, modifications to a system, and retirement of a system, as these scenarios can introduce new risks or changes to the system that need verification. Preparation for an audit does not typically trigger maintenance testing, and the development of an entirely new system requires a broader range of testing beyond maintenance tests. Therefore, the correct triggers are system migration, system retirement, and system modifications.

it should be d

it's D

Right answer is D

LynxyOption: A

The triggers for Maintenance testing are a) System migration from one platform to another, c) Preparation for an audit of a system, and d) Modifications to a system. So, the correct answer is A. a, c and d. Maintenance testing is triggered by changes, migration or the need for a system audit. Retirement of a system (b) would not require testing as the system is being phased out. The development of a whole new system (e) would require a full range of testing, not just maintenance testing. Therefore, options B, C, and D are not correct.

SiyahssnOption: D

Answer is D. Retirement in the sense, when an application reaches the end of its life. When an application is retired, this can require testing of datat migration or archiving if long data retention periods are required. ( ISTQB syllabus V3 2018 page number 43)

ktin15Option: D

D. Modification, Migration and retirement

CourtmanOption: A

There seem to be some errors in the "official" flagging of answers. Migration is a logical trigger for maintenance_testing as are any modifications to the system. A completely new system would require some other type of testing, the whole thing all over again, I'd guess. An upcoming audit - I would not have thought that this should trigger any type of testing - an audit should never meet with any systems which have not been thoroughly tested ...

C is correct
