CCSP Exam - Question 422

The goals of DLP solution implementation include all of the following, except:

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

DLP (Data Loss Prevention) solutions are designed to prevent the unauthorized spread or leak of sensitive information. Goals of DLP implementations typically include policy enforcement, data discovery, and loss mitigation. Elasticity, which refers to the capacity of systems to scale up or down based on demand, is related to cloud computing and resource management but is not relevant to the functions of a DLP solution.

Answer is A

I believe it meant to say "Loss mitigation" and not "loss of mitigation" which is actually the exact opposite and would not be a goal of DLP.

I think is A This was probably a typo. Data Loss mitigation is obviously a goal of DLP. Elasticity is not a goal of DLP.

D - mitigation of loss probably?

they said only one is false, so if you think D, what about A which does not make any sense and has nothing to do with DLP.

DLP solutions are designed to prevent data loss, not to mitigate it. If data loss does occur, a DLP solution can help to detect and investigate the incident, but it cannot recover the lost data

Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions are designed to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, transfer, or leaks. The primary goals of DLP implementation include: B. Policy Enforcement → Ensuring security policies are applied to prevent data exfiltration. C. Data Discovery → Identifying sensitive data across endpoints, cloud, and network storage. D. Loss Mitigation → Reducing the risk of data breaches and leaks through monitoring and security controls. Why Not "Elasticity"? Elasticity refers to the dynamic scaling of cloud resources based on demand. DLP solutions do not focus on resource scaling—they focus on data protection, compliance, and security policies.
