CCSP Exam - Question 509

Limits for resource utilization can be set at different levels within a cloud environment to ensure that no particular entity can consume a level of resources that impacts other cloud customers.

Which of the following is NOT a unit covered by limits?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

The hypervisor is a backend cloud infrastructure component that manages the virtualization of physical resources and typically does not have user-configurable limits to control resource utilization. Limits are usually applied at levels directly related to the services used by cloud customers, such as virtual machines, individual cloud customers, and specific services within the cloud environment. Therefore, the hypervisor is not a unit where limits are commonly set.

Cloud customer is not a resource that can be limited.

"Cloud customer" seems poorly worded just to confuse us, but the whole concept is that you can indeed put limits at the customer level.

Limits for resource utilization in a cloud environment are typically set at levels such as cloud customers, virtual machines, and services to ensure fair resource distribution and prevent a single entity from over-consuming shared resources. However, limits are not directly set at the hypervisor level because the hypervisor is a system software component that manages virtualization and resource allocation. šŸ”¹ Why Not "Hypervisor"? The hypervisor itself does not have a direct resource limit; instead, it is responsible for enforcing limits at the VM and service levels.
