CCSP Exam - Question 487

The BC/DR kit should include all of the following except:

Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

The BC/DR kit, which stands for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery kit, is designed to ensure that essential functions and processes can continue or be quickly restored in the event of a major disruption. The kit should include items that are immediately useful during an emergency, such as an annotated asset inventory, a flashlight for visibility during power outages, and documentation equipment to record important information or procedures. Hard drives, while useful for data storage and retrieval, are not critical for the immediate execution of BC/DR activities in an emergency situation. They are more relevant to the data recovery phase rather than the initial response phase.

According to the book (chapter 8) I don't see any hard drive mentioned although it is what I personal would have done. I have to choose C because of ISC2...

If I had to pick the best answer, flashlight is not really needed among the other options

We all often concentrate on BC and forgetting that DR can also entail physical work for example accessing dark places in rack/DC or evening issues with emergency lighting. A flashlight becomes key.

Hard drives could be too big to fit for the kit

A Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) kit is designed to ensure essential tools, information, and resources are available for response and recovery during a disaster. While annotated asset inventories, flashlights, and documentation equipment are critical, hard drives are not typically included because: Backup data is usually stored off-site or in the cloud, rather than on physical hard drives within the BC/DR kit. Modern BC/DR plans rely on remote access to backups and recovery sites, not manual hard drive swapping. Hard drives can be bulky, fragile, and require specific hardware to access, making them impractical for a BC/DR kit. Why Not the Others? A. Annotated Asset Inventory → Provides a list of critical assets for recovery and prioritization. B. Flashlight → Essential for visibility during power outages or physical inspections. D. Documentation Equipment → Helps record damage, recovery steps, and compliance reports.
