The most critical factor for the successful adoption of an enterprise architecture (EA) program is stakeholder support. Without the buy-in and support from key stakeholders, an EA program is unlikely to gain the necessary traction and acceptance needed for successful implementation. Stakeholders, including upper management and those who will be affected by the architecture, must be on board to provide the necessary support, resources, and commitment. Adequate funding, skilled resources, and a mature governance plan are also important, but they cannot substitute for the foundational support from stakeholders, which drives the overall success of the program.
