Question 340

A software development company is in the process of creating a new product for their customer base. It has been several years since such a project has been initiated and the organization has created a new team to own and develop the product. The project team will be evaluated by the successful adoption of the product, which will be developed over the next 12 months.

The team's business analyst (BA) has analyzed the current state in partnership with the product owner and has been meeting with senior management to identify the goals that need to be attained. A broad view of the business has been analyzed in order to have an understanding of how the company is currently providing value to its customer base.

After the BA completed the initial analysis, the information is reviewed with leadership.

At this point in the project, what will the BA be presenting?

    Correct Answer: D

At this stage, the business analyst has completed the current state analysis in collaboration with stakeholders to understand the company's current value delivery. The analyst would now present the expected benefits of the new product, such as increased revenue, reduced costs, or other strategic advantages. This helps leadership understand the potential value of the proposed solution and supports decision-making for the project's future direction. Identifying expected benefits aligns with the aim of achieving successful product adoption which will be evaluated over the next 12 months.

The answer is D. BABOK V-3 Definition: Analyze Current State 6.1 A solution to a set of business needs must have the potential to generate benefits for the enterprise or its stakeholders, or avoid losses that would otherwise occur. Thank you for pointing this out, I agree answer should be D. pg. 104-105

rhsdealOption: B

BABOK V-3 Definition: “All business deliverables are referred to as 'requirements'.” Pg. 137 6.1.8 Strategy Analysis: Analyze Current State: Outputs- • Business Requirements: the problem, opportunity, or constraint which is defined based on an understanding of the current state.pg.110 -- Answer is B

mdadewale

Is business deliverable the same as project deliverable?

xiaoyangwu

I think mdadewale is correct, "project deliverable" should handle by project manager, not BA.

QualmsOption: B

B. Project deliverables. This is a strategy analysis task. The problem states that a current state analysis has been performed after meeting with stakeholders to understand the needs of the business. The output is business requirements and current state description. Business Requirements is the problem, opportunity, or constraint which is defined based on an understanding of the current state. Hence, since the business requirement is project deliverables. Babok, page 110

I agree with you, the current state was assessed so, the next step would be discussing the future state

TochTochOption: D

At this point, the BA should be presenting the future state. According to BABOK Pg 111 "Describing the future state allows stakeholders to understand the potential value that can be realized from a solution, which van be used as part of the decision making process regarding change strategy". From the above, the answer should be D

RabbitsfootOption: D

v3 - 6.1 - Expected benefits

xiaoyangwuOption: D

B is not correct as the project deliverables should be handled by project manager. project deliverables not only includes business deliverables

[Removed]Option: B

There are two key phrases: "Analyzed current state" and "how the company is currently providing value". It means that BA performs 'Analyze Current State' task. Then in the 6.0 Description "When performing strategy analysis, business analysts must consider the context in which they are working, and how predictable the range of possible outcomes is. When a change will have a predictable outcome, the future state and possible transition states can typically be clearly defined, and a clear strategy can be planned out. If the outcome of a change is difficult to predict, the strategy may need to focus more on mitigating risk, testing assumptions, and changing course until a strategy that will succeed in reaching the business goals can be identified or until the initiative has ended." I think deliverables are synonyms of outcomes.

OlivierPaudexOption: B

Correct answer is B. (Project deliverables) Current state analysis has been done It is time now to talk about the futur requirements and needs, what should you deliver for. Wrong A : Timeline project is too early Wrong C : Resource staffing will take place during and after the project Wrong D : Again, to know the potential benefits of a solution, you should do a decision analysis, means you should know the futur state.
