Question 350

Company A is a nation-wide leader in commercial demolition. Having just celebrated its 100th year of operations, the company decided to begin doing work internationally. The current system used for reporting company finances is unable to keep pace with the potential demands of doing work in geographically dispersed locations. Therefore, the company decided to replace its client-based Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting system with a more robust, web-based system. This will ensure transparency across the organization and enable better decision making.

The business analyst (BA) at Company A has recently completed several rounds of elicitation to determine the requirements for the new, web-based system. Over

1250 requirements were elicited. An initial Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) has been drafted, and a subset of the RTM can be seen below:

The BA is working on identifying additional improvement opportunities based on these requirements.

Which of the following improvement opportunities is reflected in Requirement ID NFP0002?

    Correct Answer: B

The requirement ID NFP0002 states that the solution shall load in the browser in under 3 seconds. This directly pertains to improving the system's performance efficiency, as it aims to reduce the time taken to load the solution. Therefore, the improved load time reflects increased efficiency.

Discussion
Kakashi_SenseiOption: B

The answer is B. Improved load time is increased efficiency

Chyka

I think both B and D are correct. The Classification is both Performance and Efficiency.

siliconvalleykam

So the best option to select will be B

mdadewaleOption: D

The answer is D. The requirement is already identified as Performance Efficiency as written in the RTM. The BA is working on identifying ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES based on the requirements in the RTM. So aside from Performance Efficiency, Improved access to information is an additional improvement opportunity that Requirement ID NFP0002 reflects.

OlivierPaudexOption: D

I think D (improved) is the right answer. We always say : "How can the efficiency of a website be improved ?" and not "How can the efficiency of a website be increased ?" It's just a question of formulation :-)

TochToch

Please note that "increase" is one of the synonyms for "improve". The answer is increased efficiency. The hint to the answer is even stated under the classification column "Performance efficiency".

saeeddddddOption: B

BBBBBB

RabbitsfootOption: B

Based on the description provided in the question, which states that "the solution shall load in the browser in under 3 seconds," the focus seems to be on the performance efficiency aspect rather than on access to information (D).

fepecyOption: B

B Clearly the right answer. Increased efficiency = improved throughput and system turnaround time.

mdadewaleOption: D

The answer is D. The requirement is already identified as Performance Efficiency as written in the RTM. The BA is working on identifying ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES based on the requirements in the RTM. So aside from Performance Efficiency, Improved access to information is an additional improvement opportunity that Requirement ID NFP0002 reflects.

Farooq_95

D is not correct. As per BABOK v3 7.5.4.2, Improve access to information means provide greater amount of information to staff who interface directly or indirectly with customers thereby reducing the need for specialists. The requirement NFP0002 refers to improved load time, not to increased amounts of information. Hence, B is correct.

Dave_QA

There is a difference between "increased" and "improved": Efficiency signifies a peak level of performance that uses the least amount of inputs to achieve the highest amount of output. Efficiency requires reducing the number of unnecessary resources used to produce a given output including personal time and energy.
