Question 13

An auditor plans to analyze customer satisfaction, including. (1) customer complaints recorded by the customer service department during the last three months;

(2) merchandise returned in the last three months; and (3) responses to a survey of customers who made purchases in the last three months.

Which of the following statements regarding this audit approach is correct?

    Correct Answer: B

    The auditor's survey approach would exclude feedback from customers who did not make purchases within the last three months, potentially missing out on valuable insights from a broader customer base, including those who might have been dissatisfied and chose not to make repeat purchases.

None of the following provide assurance that the complaints, returns, and survey responses pertain to purchases made within the past three months ONLY: (1) Customer complaints recorded by the customer service department during the last three months - those complaints could be related for purchases made more than three months ago. (2) Merchandise returned in the last three months - the items could have been purchased more than three months ago ; and (3) Responses to a survey of customers who made purchases in the last three months - customers could respond to the survey about purchases they made more than three months ago.
